Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s and soon to be moms out there.  I was never a big one for celebrating this day. I always felt it was just another day to make kids feel guilty for not going to visit their mother.

Even with my own kids, I brought them up telling them to just call.  That was all I needed or wanted. To be truthful I would rather hear from them more on “non mother’s day” days, then on the day they are guilted into it.  Lately it has worked out that way which is the best present they could give me.

This morning however I am invited to homemade brunch. All my kids love to cook.  Go figure. They certainly didn’t get that from me. I hope the girls are not over doing though.  Guilia just having had Nolan, and Beth not quite out of the morning sickness stage.  Just toss me a bagel and come coffee I’d be good. YES I SAID A BAGEL!   A BIG FAT BAGEL!

I fell off the good carb/bad carb wagon around my birthday.  I am working on climbing back on, for the most part, but fresh baked bread, home made cookies, a beer with friends…I can not go through the rest of my life never having those things.  I do believe life is meant to be enjoyed, not just lived.  We all die in the end anyway.

So everyone enjoy your Mother’s Day. Indulge just a bit.  It’s all worth it at the end of the day.

About ramblinann

I live in Massachusetts and always have. My family continues to grow with the addition of many grandchildren, who steal my heart every time I see them. Recently I was able to check off an item on my bucket list and earn my Associate Degree in Complementary Healthcare, but usually, I can be found sitting behind the wheel of a big yellow school bus. I love to write, though there seems to be some missing connection between my thoughts and the ability of my fingers to put those thoughts on paper, or the screen in this case.
