Pet Food Recalls

There have been a number of pet food recalls in the past week or so.  An alarming amount is more like it.  Some of the “big”names are involved and I would not be able to forgive myself if I didn’t pass them along and someone’s pet got sick or worse.  I am going to list links below.  The link will connect you to the information for specific brand, flavor, batch, and dates.  Please pass this along to all the pet owners you know.  This information could save a life.

May 4, 2012 – Wellness
May 7, 2012 – This one really scares me.  It was issued by Diamond Foods regarding food that was manufactured as far back as December of 2011.  That was 5 months ago!  They are just catching a contamination now and I have two press releases.  Apparently they couldn’t get the correct information out the first time and needed to try again.  My advice would be get rid of it all and don’t buy it again.  But that’s just me.  So below are two different press release from Diamond and a separate news story about Apex Pet Food which was sold in South Carolina.   If you think you don’t buy a Diamond brand, think again.  *Chicken Soup For The Soul, *Taste Of The Wild, *Canidae, *Kirkland.  They are all manufactured in Diamond facilities, all part of the recall.

Please Please pass this information on to other pet owners.  Also let them know if they need help reading the packages or finding company information they can get in touch with me here or email me at ann@annsfurryfriends.com   I will help them.  Have them put ramblinann/recalls in the subject line and I will know it is not spam.

This means a lot to me.  When the last big recall hit I was still feeding my pets Wellness.  I was also pet sitting and a lot of my customers were feeding the brands recalled.  I carried a list with names and batch numbers so I could check each time I fed someone.   I talked to many people online who lost pets due to contaminated food.  It was heart breaking.

At that time I called Wellness to get some reassurance.  What I was told was not reassuring.  They would not give me information on the products themselves and I was told simply they all had pets so they would not make a contaminated food.  Guess they all got rid of their pets since then, because they are part of this latest recall.

That is when I started researching the pet food industry and became totally disgusted.  It is also when I found Life’s Abundance.  My animals have been eating it ever since.  I was so impressed with the products and the company that I became a rep.

So please check your pet food and PLEASE let your friends know to check theirs.  Our pets rely on us, don’t let them down.

About ramblinann

I live in Massachusetts and always have. I sell healthy holistic pet food as an independant rep with Life's Abundance. That is done mostly from home on my computer. When I'm not working for myself with the pet food, I am sitting behind the wheel of a big yellow school bus.

Thank you SO much for putting this info out there! I had actually heard about the Diamond Foods recall, but I didn’t get all the details. Thank you for being so thoughtful and concerned about all the pets who don’t have a voice and who could be at risk for getting sick, or worse.

Reblogged this on Simply. Madly. Me. and commented:
Hey all you pet lovers: my friend, Ann, who blogs at Ramblin Ann’s Blog posted some very important (and frightening) info regarding some pet food recalls. Please check out the info and make sure your furry babies aren’t at risk for consuming contaminated food. If you’re not a pet owner, but know one (or some), then pass along the info. You could help save a four-legged family member. Thanks!
