sidewalk, or pavementfootpathfootway, and sometimes platform, is a path along the side of a road. * Courtesy of Wikipedia

The town I live in is considered rural.  Most roads do not have sidewalks.  In years past, people have managed to survive walking along these roads.  Some still do.  For others it is like asking them to walk down a major interstate.  It becomes their excuse for any number of things.  Can’t exercise, can’t walk their dog, can’t walk their kid to a bus stop etc…

However; the reason for this post is not to complain about those who don’t have sidewalks, it is to question the ones who do and refuse to use them.  Just this morning on my way to work I came across not one, but two people in the road.  One walking, one jogging; both about 3 feet away from a sidewalk.  What is the deal with that?

While others are being forced to live their lives without the safety of sidewalks why are others squandering away the beauty they have laid before their feet; and walking in the travel lane of every road I have to drive on?

About ramblinann

I live in Massachusetts and always have. I sell healthy holistic pet food as an independant rep with Life's Abundance. That is done mostly from home on my computer. When I'm not working for myself with the pet food, I am sitting behind the wheel of a big yellow school bus.
