It has been a long cold stormy couple of months and I had become Weather Worn & Winter Weary. I was seeing everything around me in the negative with no sign of anything positive. It was a tad bit depressing to say the least, so I took some days off from here.
During those days I started giving my kitchen a bright facelift. After almost seven years of looking at or fixing the bold flowered wallpaper I couldn’t take it any longer. I grabbed a piece and just started ripping. It’s not that it was ugly wallpaper, it was not, it was just too busy for the tiny kitchen and it was getting old.
In its place we chose two shades of yellow. Wainscoting and woodwork are sporting Lemon Pound Cake, the walls “proper” are showing off a pastel burst of Provence Cream. While it is not a “great work of art” it has given me a feeling of creativity. Something I have sorely missed.
So as we welcome in a new month and watch for signs of spring, I am getting a head start inside. By the end of the week my kitchen will be a burst of sunshine.
